This is the 3rd bag I ever made. I designed it after having used my previous 2 bags on a daily basis. I found the right size for me, and the right features that would last me a long time.
Once I had that figured out, I picked materials and hardware that would also last. The bag is made from Dyneema, and engineering fabric designed to withstand incredible abuse, and not tear or fray. It has a mid layer of Tyvek to add some structure and further waterproofing, and it is line with customized quilted batting.
To top it all off, I designed a custom pair of Nike Internationalist sneakers, my favorite model of shoe, to match the bag. To this day my bag is holding up perfectly, and it accompanies me everywhere I go.
While not all RDSW bags are designed from the same materials, they are all designed with constant use and abuse in mind. They are all imperfect, displaying the existence of the human behind their creation. This is a feature, not a bug, and it is a philosophical principal for RDSW.
